Ladakh to Spiti  trek - Over the Great Himalaya 16 days Setting off from from Rumtse on our 16 days trek, we start with gentle walk to Karzok via beautiful lake of Tso Kar. Discovering the nomadic life and culture of Changpas all on the trail. We arrive at Tso Moriri The brackish lake beyond imagination and expectation. Further from Tso Moriri we follow the Pare Chu river, which flows to Tibet near Chumar village.  Stepping over the moraine stretches, crevasses and glaciers, we climb to the mighty pass of Parang -la (5450m) and walk down to Parilungbi gorge to Kibber.  The last part of the trekking tour is in Spiti valley, discovering the ancient villages and monasteries like: Kee, Dankhar, Lhalung, Tabo, Kungri and Langza. Some of these monasteries are more than 1000 years old. Nomdas of Chanthang plateau Trek Itinerary Day 01 : Arrival in Delhi.  Day 02 : Delhi-Leh : Depart to domestic airport, fly to Leh. Transfer to hotel and check into hotel. Rest of the day free for acclimatization, excursion around market. Overnight in hotel.   Day 03:  Leh Day 04: Excursion Around Leh Visit monasteries at Shey, Thiksey, Stok palace, Spituk,   Day 05 : Leh Hemis Rumtse (4'040 m) 78 KM. Morning drive to Rumtse via visiting Hemis Monastery, which is situated in a distance of 45 km from Leh on the other side of River Indus. Hemis which is the biggest and richest monastery in Ladakh region. After visiting this monastery drive to Rumtse. Overnight Camp near the village. Day 06 : Rumtse - Chorten Sumdo, 4/5 hrs trek Beginning to trek today we walk short and easy stage for a acclimatization. After breakfast we start trek through beautiful gorge. Two times of easy River crossing. Then turn left side of the gorge and easy walk upto the camp. Enroute see different kind of wild animals roaming around.  Day 07 : Chorten Sumdo - Tisaling (4'520 m ), 6/7 hrs  Today we have 2 passes to cross. We start our trek earlier to cross these passes. Easy walk for one hour then ascend towards Kyamar La (5000mt) which will take you 1 ½ hrs. From the top of the pass one can see the beautiful view of Kang Gyatse peak and the Ladakh mountain range of Himalayas. Day 08 : Tisaling - Pungunagu ( Tso Kar lake ), 6/7 hrs trek Today after breakfast ascend 2 hrs towards the Shingbuk la pass (4950mt). From top of pass panoramic view of Tso kar Lake and the Rupshu valley. Then long descend towards the plain of Tso Kar. The area is only inhabited by the nomads Changpas. Camp close to the village of Thugje. Day 09 : Pungunagu - Nuruchan , 5 / 6 hrs trek Today we have easy trek along with the lake. On the way one can see many birds and Wild ass (Kyang) of Ladakh. After finishing the lake we turn to right side and enter the Nuruchan village.Camp near the village.  Day 10 : Nuruchan Rachung Karu , 4/5 hrs trek  Today again we cross small pass . After crossing the pass we reach Rachungkaru. This area is principally inhabited by the nomadic people with their yaks, sheep and pashmina goat.  Day 11: Rachung karu - GyamaNuma , 6 hrs trek  Today from the camp easy walk through the nomadic camps. Leaving behind the camp ascend to Kazurla. From the pass we can see beautiful landscape of Korzok area. Easy descent to the summer pasture. Overnight camp at GyamaNuma.  Day 12 : GyamaNuma - Kyagartso , 7 hrs trek Crossing of river two times today we continue to Kyagartso which is a beautiful small lake. After an hour walking through gorge we will cross the first crossing. Then easy ascend towards small pass where we can see lake, Kyagartso. Descend towards the second river crossing through rocky trail. After crossing the river continue towards Kyagartso. Overnight camp at Kyagartso.   Day 13 : Kyagartso - Korzok   From camp cross small pass of Horlam La ( 4'500 m ) to cross then easy descend on the way to Karzok village. Which is situated on the west bank of Lake Tso Moriri. Just above village the monastery is located. Visit monastery.Camp just above the village.    Day 14 : At Karzok Day 15 : Karzok – Leh: Today drive back to Leh. Day 16: Leh - New Delhi. Day 17: Fly back to home town.

They are professional, experience, knowledgeable, friendly and helpful.  Umesh has assisted me several times on the river crossings and willing to wait for me, as I am always walking slowly. With no complaints, and also give me support with encouragement on passing the Parang la pass and on the Kanamo peak and give full support on during the road blocking on the Batal – Chatru. He also shared with me of his climbing experience and others about the regional history & culture to make the trip interesting.  Ravinder served as assistant guide but also acted as cook on the trek. He has done a good job on cooking includes breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack and dinner. I like much of his fried rice and noodles, potato chips and mixed veg. He also clean up campsite area and burnoff the garbage before leaving, in support of the eco-tourism. I also like to thank you Tenzin Ningbo to secure me the bus ticket New Del / Manali / Del and the booking on the sunshine guest house which provide me the comfortable and nice stay. As well as to Ningbo for all his support me during my stay in Manali. Manali: Hamta Pass Trek We completed our 4 days hamta pass trek on 14th july, 2011. It was a really great experience with all the modern facilities provided to us by tenzin ningbo. The taste of food along with the presentation of food at an altitude of over 3500mts was just great. The cook did his best to provide us with the nice dishes as far as it could be done.  All the staff on the trek acted professionally in every situation, even when my trek partner was forced to make decision to return with the porters. The cook and the Guide did their best to serve me the food I needed on the last two days of the trek, although we didn’t carry any cooking equipment with us. The tent and sleeping bags we were given were also just right for the wind and weather conditions. Altogether an amazing experience I won’t forget.
